British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Monday inaugurated the CAP-26 climate summit with a warning. He said that the world is standing on the verge of destruction, and to save it, leaders have to become ‘James Bond’. Johnson likens the state of the warming earth to the fictional character ‘James Bond’ who is wrapped in a bomb that could destroy the world, and Bond tries to neutralize it and eventually save the world. Johnson told global leaders that ‘we are in almost the same situation and the bomb that will destroy the world is not imaginary but real.
He said the threat of climate change is posed by burning coal, oil and natural gas. He said it all started in Glasgow when James Watt invented the coal-fired steam engine. The goal of this United Nations summit on climate is to give a concrete shape to an agreement on curbing carbon emissions. Do not increase more than Celsius. Johnson said that we are already too late, and now is the time to act. He said that the average age of more than 130 world leaders gathered is more than 60 years, while the generation most affected by climate change is not born yet.
